2016.03.16 – 2016.03.21 WATSU Provider Training
in Okinawa with Toru Ogasawara (English & Japanese)

Watsu
Provider
Training
is an original class by Toru Ogasawara and this is a requirement to be certified as Watsu Provider by Okinawa Watsu Center. The class teaches what Toru felt were missing when he started professional sessions after becoming Watsu Practitioner. Over the years he developed how to teach people this missing piece to float “real bodies”.

1-2The first 2 days will be dedicated to fine tuning your sequence. In this process, we play with towels, hara exercise, the “arched structure” of your arms and shoulders. It’s mostly about self awareness. Really to be in yourself. It includes the demonstration of competency of Watsu 1 & 2 sequence.

3 The 3rd day introduces Toru’s original moves and positions that he always does for the first 10 to 15 minutes of every session. It’s not exactly a sequence. It’s more like “framed” free flow. The intension is to access, align, and melt the client of any kind. How many times have you had trouble bending the knees of REAL bodies for two leg offering in the beginning of the session? This will change all that.

4The 4th day is about getting ready for free flow. It’s about following, suggesting and listening to explore free flow. But he gives you a framework to practice your freedom. We found that this is the best way to explore freedom. Most people don’t know what to do when they are given freedom in Watsu 3, or students only keep thinking what to do and forget to listen to the body. We practice free flow with real bodies from outside the class too.

5The 5th day is free flow sessions with real bodies from outside the class.
